Beach Chair
Going to the beach is all about having a good time. While much of what you do at the beach is active, you do want to be able to kick back and relax and maybe even take a nap in the warm summer sun from time to time. After a day of building sand castles, playing beach Frisbee or volleyball or frolicking in the surf, having a "base camp" to retreat to for a cold beverage and to gather your energies for the next big round of activities is one of the great things about a day at the beach.
Three things go into putting up your beach home base. One is a good umbrella to make your own shady area to enjoy. The other is one or more beach towels to block the heat from the sand and to keep the kids somewhat clean as they play on the ground next to you. But for the adults, a good chair to lay back and feel completely at ease in is a must to complete the perfect beach experience.
Of course, most beaches that are part of a developed resort area have chairs for rent. This is a great option if you are on a vacation that involved long distance travel. If you had to fly accords the country to get to your beach resort, you probably are not going to put your favorite chairs for the beach in checked luggage, especially now that the airlines charge extra for more checked baggage.
But for your trips to your favorite beach within driving distance of your home, there is nothing like having your own personal set of family lounge chairs to use when you are enjoying an afternoon or a day at the beach. You can build a collection of good folding chairs to take to the beach so everybody has their favorite. The children may have small stools that they can sit on and still play in the sand. But mom and dad might have full luxury recliners that allow you to lean back, put up your feet and completely relax and enjoy the breezes blow over you as you listen to the sounds of the children playing nearby.
A good chair that lets you relax a few feet above the ground definitely improves the beach experience in several ways. For one thing, it is a guarantee of a comfortable seating experience especially compared to reclining on a beach towel on the sand. You never know what is under you reclining directly on the ground like that and it doesn’t take much to turn a nap on the ground into a bad experience. Secondly, you are less likely to feel a bug wander up the side of your head if you are reclining in your favorite outdoor chair. Yes, flying creatures are still possible but reclining on the ground, you may become aware of more little creatures under you or exploring the sand around you that you might not want to be part of your beach experience.
Being elevated in your chair also is cooler as the gentle summer breezes can cool you from below as well as above. And because you have the chair you personally picked and "broke in", you will have all the comfort of home right there in the middle of God's nature in the open beach setting. And that is exactly what you love about the beach in the first place.
